The Bremen-Hamburg initiative was started in 2018 by Petra Berenbrink from University of Hamburg and Nicole Megow from University of Bremen. The intent of the initiative is to bring together researchers from north-western Germany in the field of algorithms, combinatorics, and optimization, and to provide an accessible platform to discuss new developments and interesting open problems in their fields.
